Dean of Students, Brooklyn Primary School
It is truly an honor to become part of the Brooklyn Primary School Bulldogs as the Dean of Students. I join the staff of Baker 5J and the community of Baker City after having lived in Malheur County the majority of my life. My husband and I have two 20-something-year-old children and are looking forward to the many outdoor opportunities Baker City and the surrounding areas have to offer.
At Brooklyn Primary, we believe in “”The Brooklyn Way.” We are kind. We are responsible. We are respectful. We are safe. As Dean of Students, I will strive to encourage and foster these beliefs in myself, the staff, and the Brooklyn students in a predictable, consistent, safe, and positive manner. It is my hope that the students at Brooklyn Primary discover how much I truly believe in them and that my own personal love of learning is contagious.
This year, I will be working with our Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS) program as well as encouraging students and families to maintain and value the importance of high attendance. A missed day of school is a missed opportunity to learn. Research demonstrates that attendance is a major factor in student achievement.
It is my personal goal that each student at Brooklyn Primary come to school feeling safe and respected as well as ready to learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I’m looking forward to interacting and growing with the students, parents, and staff at Brooklyn Primary.
Please know that my door is open; I value the input of everyone involved in the education of our students at Brooklyn Primary. I am here for the students of and truly believe that it takes all of us to create a community of lifelong learners.
